Chiong ahhhhhh..... tomorrow need to give client some progress le and I still haven start on postcard and the fire notice which I'm in charge in! Argh the in-house folder giving me headache... Lucky thing the meeting with NEC went smoothly and we manage to get $8/hr = $96..... -_-...... was hoping for at least a $100 but beggars can't be choosers lol.
Good thing I can still look forward to great food for dinner! Mom decided to try to make Ginger and Spring Onion Pork Rice (direct translation ><). She tried to imitate the dish from out S11 stall and it was very successful for a first time and very nice :) Should introduce her to my school's canteen 4 Black Pepper Fish Rice lol!

Pork Fats
I've never seen so many pork fats in my life. Mama was making prawn noodle so she asked Mummy to fry some pork fat. And I SERIOUSLY heard her say: " Buy $5 worth of fats." I went to Shop'n'Save and all I saw packages of only 60cents to $1+ and I was like "Huh? Y they give so little only? It does shrink when you fry them maybe thats why Mom wanted $5..."
I actually considered buying the whole shelf off so all the packets would add up to $5 but thought it wouldn't be so nice. So I went home with $3+ worth of fats. When my mom saw she went hysterical and said: "I said 50cents not $5 dollars!" So yeah.... we tried to sell some away to our close reatives and my story we repeated over and over and over again... lol...

Lol... reaction of the day man!
It all started when Nanci, my Graphic Design teacher gave us an extra project that involved a real client: NEC. Noooo not the computer brand but Nanyang Executive Centre lol... They wanted to rebrand their centre which serves like a one-stop learning experience inclusive of hotel rooms and restaurant and believe me, they did if you saw their design package lol. Once we heard we'll get paid if our design was choosen, we jumped at the chance!
I think this was the shortest deadline I ever had to rush with so many collaterals to produce. So Trixie, Cherlyn, Dan and me slogged for I dunno 2 weeks and came up with some professional looking products. We even had to 'sell' ourselves to the client today, what with Dan's speech of "what sets us apart from the rest!"
But after slogging for 2 weeks, reality hits us that if we were to get choosen we'll need to work on it for another one more week to finalise production and plus all the hw we have over recess week, it not even a holiday! So ironic as it was, many prayed to impress the judges but NOT get choosen.
And unfortunately or not, that was what we got! Nanci called Trix and it went something like this-
N: Do you know why I'm calling?
T: ... ?(long pause)
T: Em... is it about NEC?
N: Well yeahhhh...
N: What do you think will be the result?
T: ...?(ANOTHER long pause)
T: Er... I dunno?
N: ... (Long climax pause)
N: YOU WON! :D
T: OH NO! O.O
N: Huh? Why "Oh No!"?!
T: Erm *tries to distract*
T: Lynne! We won!
Yah... and now you know...lol...

$100 Fine! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Man... I'm really screwed! Since Digital Painting class is on Mon, no class on Fri, and I often do my HW over the weekends, Cherlyn and me came up with a system where we take turns to either borrow or renew my rented Wacom tablet on Mondays and Thursdays while Cher can help renew on Fridays since she got singing elective. The tablet has since never left my hand and the IT dep people became very familiar with our routine. They often warn me with unfortunate stories of people getting fined just when a sec has passed the due time due to a mouse click or someone dropping the pen into the elevator gap.
You know what... I broke the record of records according to the guy at the IT dep. I forgot to remind Cher and Cher herself forgot the Thursday renewal. Plus 2 weekend... thats not all... PLUS 2 CNY hols whereby the IT dep will be closed, I can only return on Wed and by then I'm late for 4 days*$20 per day=Tada! A $100 fine!
I tried to plead leniency to the head of the IT dep and turns out only the Chairman can decide to lessen the amt or not.... Hai.... Very pai seh.... The guy at the IT dep already warned me of the danger especially during CNY period and I confidently told him:" Ok one! Dun worry!"
Urgh!!!! Hope it turns out ok....
(P.S My parents DON't know about this!!!!)

New Laptop!
Heyall! This is the firat time I'm blogging with my new laptop! No more ma fan with CS3 installation!!!! (I suck at installing programs beside game lol!) It's a Toshiba M800 Mercury Black which in student price cost me around $2000. I even had a name for it which unconsciouslly popped out when I was caressing me baby and as corny as it may sound, HER name is "Black Beauty". Yeah I know go ahead and laugh!
Funny thing happen today with my laptop. The only problem I have with it so far was it heats up very VERY quickly. Trixie told me maybe I ran too many programmes overtime but the heating noramlly occurs right after I on and I had very few programmes running. So we decided that we should take it for servicing *sob!* I mean, it was literally blowing out hot air like and air conditioner except it not cold! last night I even had to work with the fan constantly blowing at the ventilating unit and because it heats the table too, it scared me so I propped it with a box while working.
I think BB has a mind on its own and maybe it overheard me. Knowing that I intend to bring it to the 'doctor', surprisingly, it did't heat up at all! Not once and not even now! Dunno, maybe the fan- blowing- thingy worked lol or it was just initiation prob. Now I just love it even more and more! BB wan sui!
